History
1578 The first preserved record about the house, engraved into a renaissance arch with the architect initials A. B. It hasn´t been found out yet, who the architect was.
1602 Jan Třebícký from Olivová Hora was one of the first owners and the richest citizen of Uherské Hradiště. Even local aristocracy used to borrow his money at interet. Later on, he left the city and left this building and many finantial inconsistencies...
1629 The house came under the control of the Velehrad monastery. In 1722 the monastery built up a salt storehouse for the local region...
1681 The city suffered from a devastating fire. The hotel building was the only renaissance building, which overcame the fire.
1874 The first record about the Gold Slunce Hotel. The owner of the hotel licence was a wife of the teritor of the Vilém Schulz house.
1904 Matěj and Františka Opravil had taken stone cannonball balls away from the corner of the house. These remained here from the times of siege of the city.
1921 Mr. and Mrs. Čáp made a large reconstruction of the house. The number of hotel rooms iincreased from 23 to 54. Unfortunately, the whole renaissance heart of the house was destroyed.
1937 The Czechoslovak president Edvard Beneš and his wife visited the city. Hotel-keeper Fojta even borrowed a special furniture for all three apartments for these important visitors...
1991 The Hotel was returned back in restitution to Fojta´s descendants. Theyfounded a company Hotel Fojta Ltd., but their reconstruction plans were damaged by large floods in 1997...
2001 A new owner of the house became Synot Real Estate Inc., which reconstructed this house with its special care into a present form...
2003 Modern hotel facility is opened and welcomes its first guests...
2005 Hotel welcomes Czech president Václav Klaus with his wife during their visit in the town...
